Who is Jesus Christ?
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."According to the bible, Jesus is the son of God. But, he's more then what we would consider a normal son:
"...God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." 1 Timothy 3:16b
According to the bible, Jesus Christ is not only God's son, but he is also God in the flesh. Can you believe that? God came to the earth as a mere man! But why? Jesus Christ came to the earth to die for our sins. He humbled himself by leaving heaven and yeilding his life so that you and I wouldn't have to spend eternity in hell.
Jesus Christ, the son of God, was born of a virgin. His entire life was dedicated to fulfilling the will of the Father (God), even unto death, the horrible crucifixion which awaited him. "And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." Philippians 2:8
Matthew 26:28 "For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."
By the shedding of Christ's blood, you and I have the opportunity to be found perfect on the day of judgment. When I stand before God he won't look at my sin, but to the blood of his own son, Jesus Christ. God will see Christ's righteousness, not my sin. Why? Because I've placed my faith in Jesus Christ for salvation and have asked him to save me.
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13
