What happens if I don't repent?
"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out..." Acts 3:19In the last section we glanced at the meaning of the word "repent" which simply means: a change of mind. That is to say, instead of not believing in Christ or the gospel, you begin to believe and place your faith in Christ.
The reason why Jesus came to this earth was to take your personal debt and punishment owed to God for your sin. Jesus Christ took your debt and paid it in full, allowing you to have the gift of eternal life and avoid spending eternity in hell, but only if you choose to accept that gift. The question is: "What happens if I don't repent?" The simple answer: you'll spend eternity in hell.
Matthew 26:28 "For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."
By the shedding of Christ's blood, you and I have the opportunity to be found perfect on the day of judgment. When I stand before God he won't look at my sin, but to the blood of his own son, Jesus Christ. God will see Christ's righteousness, not my sin. Why? Because I've placed my faith in Jesus Christ for salvation and have asked him to save me.
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13
